October 02 ~DOWN FOR THE COUNI am on the couch feeling like CRAP ! Somethings up w/ my innards/ guts , owwwwwww ! Screwing up my day ! April 26 ~APRIL SHOWERS BRING MAY FLOWERS ~It was a looooooooooooong winter, we haven't had much of a spring, but now, the leaves are out on a lot of trees and it's starting to GREEN UP ! Ahhhhhhhhhhh ! As the temp increases so does my mood... so long long winter blues, you really SUCKED ! I hate you ! I still feel ya' lingering there, but soon you be put away to deal with next season, ha ! Next year ~~> FULL SPECTRUM LIGHTS !!! In everyroom I wish !!! see it that helps ! Cursed Michigan weather ! Have been so busy working 56 hour weeks between my two jobs. UGH ! I asked for an extra day off next week, getting a lil' burnt out. I have 2.75 hrs between jobs and maybe 2 hrs after work before I have to go to bed. It takes awhile to unwind ..... I have been doing a lot on the weekends, kinda' sorta...The coolest was the Fredrick Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park...It's in Grand Rapids. John and I went with the Arts Club.. It is amazing ! I highly recommend it. I have never experienced anything like it before.... This weekend we are going to the Renaissance festival in Holly, Michigan. I have never gone before & I hear it's pretty cool...I'm looking forward to seeing the Jesters !!! Go figure, eh? ! I wish I had more time to write but got these damn chores to do..I'd love to talk bout' the ELECTION and all that has been going on with that clusterfuck and also the $700 billion bailout for Wall street , another mess..... well, maybe soon....... I just wanted to get something posted since it's been so long and my " readers " have been SOooooOOOOOoooo sad to not hear from Krazy in A2.....

I'm having a BIG party for him & all of his dog pals  .....it's going to be a riot....Instead of a clown I hired a couple of people to dress up as a Dog Catcher  and the other as" Scooby Doo " ...... there will be games of course.....Pin the tail on the cat , dunking for milk bones, hide & seek , tag , dogopoly,...... movies will follow featuring Milo & Otis  and K-9 Cop. Of course Sid will have a cake too, he wants Carrot Cake and look ~>  freeze dried ice cream for dogs ! .... I have cute lil' hats and fancy party collars. We hired a D.J . and requested songs like...... " Who Let The Dogs Out ", " Doggy Style ", by Snoop and classics like " How Much Is That Doggy In The Window " Kewl eh? Rev. Petterson will be here to do a blessing of the hounds............... BTW > he wears a size small & likes purple ( like me ! ) and blue .....  June 13 ~~SADNESS ( OLD DRAFT ;-) ~~My heart goes out to the victims & families in Myanmar and China.I have never seen catastrophe from a earthquake on such a large scale ....it's incomprehensible.They are in my thoughts throughout the day . I hope they get the help they need and I'm not against sending in U.N troops to deliver the food & water they need. One man said they haven't had water in 3 days and for many more it has been longer. They need to get people out of there , it'll take too long to rebuild but I guess if you lived in a straw hut to begin with, it wouldn't take too long to build some kind of shelter, be it makeshift or not.The last I heard in China there were an estimated 30,000 dead.....So many of the parents in China only had one child and lost him or her.That's extremely heartbreaking too..... Some screwed up BS.... June 03 ~~WINGS~~ Damn ! That game last night BLEW ! Red Wings should've won and celebrated a Stanley Cup win @ Home FOR A CHANGE ! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr ! I'm back !
Back to work after a nice mini-vaction , I had Monday & Tuesday off ! Yipeeee. I had a good weekend ....Zaynah was here and met John for the first time, that went over very good, she LOVES him ! She said he's handsome AND awesome, I agree obviously ! We had a very nice time Saturday. Went downtown to a few places, had lunch, went to Gallup park and went canoeing ! We played a little whiffle ball w/ her. John and I played a game of Aton ( he won) then back to my house for a few then off to see Indiana Jones..... It was good! The dogs are totally worn out ! Sidney was acting like he was crippled last night , really freaked me out. He wouldn't jump up and couldn't support his back legs. He seems okay now though, best keep an eye on him.... we'll I have to get back to work , am on lunch break ..... T.T.4.N. May 13 ~~ A Sigh Of Relief ~~ Last week my 87 yr. old landlord Frank, A.K.A. on my blog as ....Mister Witherspoon , had surgery, a valve on his heart was replaced. I didn't know anything except that he was VERY SICK afterwards. Today I talked to his nephew, Vince, and heard that it went REAL bad at first and the doc wasn't sure if he was going to make it or not. They put him into a coma. Now he's doing better. They put his chest back together. They left it open because of severe swelling. They are also taking him off all the life support equipment. Whew ! I am so glad to hear he's doing better. I was calling the hospital to try and get info on him but didn't get much except that he was in ICU. Vince said he's going to be in the hospital for a long time. I am going to go see him soon. I have known Frank for almost 5 yrs. We have had a few ups and downs.... but have got along real well the last couple of years. I care about him and was awful worried about him......So here's to a speedy recovery for Frank ! May 12 ~~A Warm And Fuzzy Monday ~~Happy Monday !
I had a good Monday...hmmmm.... maybe because I had a good weekend... ha... I haven't had a bad weekend since February..... wowzer !
John and I went and saw IRONMAN Friday night ... it was the shit ! Good storyline, good FX, Robert Downy Jr. was great in the role of Tony Stark..... You should check it out !
Although I had a good day, I can't help but feel for the people who didn't like the earthquake victims in China, tonado victims in the US of A and also the people of Myanmar ( Buhurma ). It's very sad. Mother Nature at her worst. It tears me up . What's next ? Geeeeez , I shouldn't ask !
Newsflash ~ I was asked if I wanted to be featured in the U of M paper " The Record ". holy crap ! I surely said YES ! They feature a U of M staff member and it's a whole page ! OMG ! I'm gonna' be ...more famous ! Best get my autograph pen ready ! One of the writers there ( Kevin B. ) writes the articles and asked me.... made my morning ( besides talking to J. dawg ) . I should scan it and put it up here or the link.....

Been slacking again....
Here's the latest...
My new boss is kewl, everything's going good, got lucky there. I have been making a major effort to GET TO WORK ON TIME !!!! And not doing too bad at all, actually considering b4 my new boss started I've done a big turn around !
Last weekend.... wowzer ! I haven't done so many things in a weekend in ...I don't know how long??? Friday John & I had dinner at Grizzly Peak, went to Chocolate shoppe , mmmmmm, & walked around.
Saturday was the " Fleetwood" experience.... ( B-fast ) , Fleetwood is a trip... to say the least, we had HIPPIE HASH ! lol We walked ALL over Campus, snuck in the Law Quad, went to some stores, Oasis outdoor roof cafe for ice tea/ soda. Then we went to the Mall, Best Buy, Kroger's. Ohhhhhhh yeah, John brought me the journal I've had my eye on for months, OMG< I nearly cried, lol , was soooooo sweet of him. Speaking of sweet......We went to Sweetwaters after dinner at my house and had ice cream drinks and played a board game, well, learning a board game.... that was kewl. Then Sunday was THE big event~~~~ THE DALAI LAMA @ Crisler Arena. THAT WAS AWESOME, WHAT A EXPERIENCE! He is one kewl dude ! Funny too ! It was a tad difficult understanding him, had to listen hard, but I was hanging on his every word.Buddism is my fave religion by far. The lecture was on sustainability , how us as individuals need to take care of our home, planet Earth.He talked about human value, compassion,affection, being tolerant of other religions and his skin disease/ condition ! lol . Outside of the arena there were 600-700 protesters ( Mostly Chinese ) . I couldn't believe the sea of red, was krazy ! I'm so glad I was able to see him, it was a memorable experience to say the least, plus being there w/ John made it all the more special ( awwwww ) . We went downtown and grabbed a bite to eat then back to Sweetwaters w/ the board game ( ATON ) then home and watched a movie .... Beowolf, it was good ! John re-did my pc for me and now its like a brand new one, doesnt freeze, fast... it's great ! ......He stayed over and left Mon. morning.It was our first long weekend together as he is in between semesters. He graduates in Aug. with another degree , this one in Computer engineering.... BRAINIAC !!!

April 14 ~~ SLACKER ~~I haven't been writing much lately at all. So much has been going on!
Here's a list of events I have attended....
1. I did go to the Prisoners Art exhibit. John went with me after we had b-fast at Northside Grill ( it was awesome , my first time there ! ) . The exhibit was good yet strange & unusual . Most of it is very impressive. Some of the subject matter is freaky and/or sad.
2. I went with Pasty to the Monroe Street Fair which follows the Hash Bash on the Diag. It was KRAZY. They blocked the street off at both ends, had a stage for bands, people all over and the air was filled with the scent of marijuana ! I told Pasty all ya' had to do was stand there and breathe. There were drums circles , lots of krazy outfits, lots of pitbulls ( status symbol ? ) and lots of sunshine ! We went into Dominicks. It is quite unique. Nice court yard seating. We had sangria ! And some pesto bread. We stayed for quite awhile but left cuz' it was getting chilly out & I was fried from the night before ( lack o' sleep ! but not lack of _ _ _ ! lol ) I fell asleep early later that night , John had gone home to do homework...
3. Sunday I went to the store downtown and noticed something going on / brewing across the street... it was FESTI-FOOLS ! I don't even know how to describe it so I'll post pics. It is put on by the Art Dept. at U of M ...monsterous / huge puppets they make out of paper mache' ! then they parade down Main St. It is always close to April Fools day . I was SOOOOOO glad I caught it ! It is awesome & like nothing I'VE seen before !
4. I had to get this in.... Friday night John took me to the EARLE for dinner !!!!! OMG, I love that place. It has consistantly been named most romantic restaurant in town. I was so geeked to be there. I have lot of memories there too , as I used to work upstairs at the jazz club, knew all the staff and would hang out there ( and party ! shhhhhh.... ) . The food was incredible, especially his steak, mmmmmm. We hung out at the bar after dinner for awhile and had dark choc. hazelnut mousse and I had a lovely after dinner drink besides a nice glass of Reisling with dinner ( yeah , what a LUSH ) . It is a special place and I was with a VERY special guy, awwwwwwwww , what a combo !
April 13 ~~ ICON TURNS FIFTY THIS YEAR ~~ The peace sign turns fifty this year. It's origins can be traced back to Gerald Holtom. He created it for a protest by the Direct Action Campaign (DAC ) . They organized to protest against nuclear weapons. Holtom designed the symbol so marchers could carry it on banners and signs. He arrived at the image by combining the sermaphore signals for the letters N, for nuclear and D, for disarmament. Like a chinese character , it's form was suggestive. The straight lines hinted at the human body. The circle brought to mind planet Earth. It debuted on April 4th , 1958 in London's Trafalgar Square. Over the next few days it appeared in countless newspaper photos and TV reports. Martin Luther King Jr. who took part in the march brought the symbol home to a growing civil rights movement. ( Kudos to Martin for that ! ) When the Vietnam War started protestors discovered they had a ready made icon to signal their feelings.Over time it has evolved fromit's narrow association with nuclear disarmament into an insignia for countercultures of all kinds. Events have conspired to keep giving the peace symbol fresh life especially the Iraq War. So thank you Mister Holtom for an icon that has endured and lived on ! March 24 ~EASTER WEEKEND~I had the BEST weekend I have had in who knows how long, A LONG TIME !! Wowzer ! Of course Friday was THE best as I spent time with someone VERY SPECIAL ! Was great ! Saturday I went to the Blind Pig there was a fundraiser for skatepark. It was really kewl and more fun than I had anticipated and gave me a new appreciation for punk/ shockabilly music. It was very high energy/ intense and COMICAL, especailly the lead singer from the second band. The crowd was MUCH older than I expected. The Pig is usually packed with college kids but it was mostly old farts like me.I met some kewl people too like this girl named Tobi who should be sending me pics soon! ( I hope ) Sunday my daughter & granddaughter came over spent the night. That was very nice. Kristin and I hadn't hung out since Christmas!!! We had dinner and just hung around and was lazy. I went to work for a few, Zaynah went with me. Oh, and we stopped by Irene's house. I always try and get Zaynah over there when I have her. Today I have the day OFF! I'm certainly LOVIN' IT ! Oh yeah ! Bliss !!! Ya'll have a good week ! I have " things" to do...... Hasta luego ! March 19 UntitledI was looking at the calendar this morning and saw Easter is THIS SUNDAY ! Holy bunny crap ! :p
DUH ! I thought it was in April and ya' think Ash Wednesday would have been a clue. Wowzer! Time has kinda' flown lately. AND TOMORROW IS ALAS THE FIRST DAY OF SPRING !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How kewl is that? It's ABOUT TIME ! What a loooooooooong winter. Seems like it was FOREVER winter. I saw some more flowers poking their heads out of the ground. I believe it's the crocuses. The BEST is the hyacinths ! Mmmmmmmmmmm. It will be interesting to see how many morning glories will come up on the rail after last summers bountiful blooms ,
It could get really krazy lol , I'll be pulling seedlings up like weeds. Until then... another expected blast of cold and snow on Friday, oh well, it's not so bad when you know it's the end of it all , I HOPE !!!! March 16 ~~ SPEWER~~Sometimes my honesty shocks even me. I have been accused of being too honest, whatever ! lol I'd rather be too honest than dishonest. For one, I can't or should I say I have a hard time keeping things to myself. I gotta; get it out ! :p Harboring feelings, not good. I need to get em' out ! They'll fester lol if kept inside. And if you keep them contained they will ooze out on their own. I figure if someone's getting to know me they might as well get the full monty , nothing hidden. Lay yer' cards on the table, FACE UP ! You are definitely taking a risk when exposing yourself but it's a risk that must be taken. I guess it's becuz' you are risking...rejection ! I guess some people are too afraid of rejection to reveal their true selves.Sometimes I kick myself and want duct tape for my trap !! lol Yet how can I kick myself for being honest? Shit just comes out then I'm like WTF did I tell them that for ?? I'm also not saying that I am 100% honest all the time, like if my boss asks if I was late I say NoooOOooooo lol crap like that but when it matters most... / w loved ones & friends I am true. I expect the same in return and even thou' I have encountered some rats I still have have faith ! March 12 ~~ Growth! ~~I was SO excited yesterday to see my tulips/ crocuses peeking their heads up out of the cold, wet ground ! Yipee ! Life ! The rebirth is starting ! I long to smell the sweet intoxicating essence of spring flowers, especially the hyacinth ! Mmmmmmmmm, it's the best of all ! Once I see the forsythia blooming I know spring has really arrived , those are the BRIGHT yellow shrubs you see early spring, BTW. I can't wait to feel the sun on my bare skin ( lol or a lightweight jacket @ least ! ) . I'm sick of LAYERS ! Tired of the furnace running like a marathon runner. I wanna' HAVE WINDOWS OPEN ! Play outside. Walk into town ! Do ya' feel me?? lol Won't be long now until it's official ( on calendar ) and hopefully March goes out like a baaaaaaaa-baaaaaaaaaaa , LAMB !
